CWA Local 3640 Membership Meeting

August 12, 2009

Call to order: 12:05pm.

Pledge of Allegiance

Chairperson: President Vonda Hardy

E-Board members in attendance: Vickey Hoots, Darla Meyer, Lori Manuel,

Jerry Lindsay, Paul Lindner, Robin Powell, Derrick Hicks.

Minutes of July 14, 2009 membership meeting read by Vickey. Motion made by Jerry Lindsay to accept minutes as read with one correction of changing “and” to “by” on reading of the financial report. Motion was seconded by Derrick Hicks.

Motion carried; 11 for, 0 against.

Financial report was distributed by Darla Meyer. No discussion followed. Ralph Roby motioned to accept financial report as read. Robin Powell seconded the motion.

Motion carried: 11 for, 0 against.

Report of Officers:

Vonda gave report of the Association meeting held in August. She went over in detail reservations issues including cameras in the office being used against members and problems with debit cards from payroll that carry a service charge if used more than once. Issues on bereavement leave for same sex partners not receiving 3 days paid bereavement leave. Also discussed was buddy passes issued and ticketed on the ETC are being processed correctly. If you make the buddy pass listing on the ETC and then opt to purchase the ticket at the ATO, if the ATO agent does not apply the proper code the buddy pass will not be deducted from your bank. Ron Harbinson is looking into this matter.

Vonda read the letter she sent to Ron Harbinson about members being put on an automatic level for signing out early on shift trades by mistake.

Committee Reports:

Craig Leake read report of Legislative committee meeting held August 8th. Next meeting is scheduled at 1:00pm on August 29th.

Vonda discussed the upcoming Women’s conference in September. She will be attending and hopes to bring at least another person.

Ralph Roby made a motion to send Paula Kelsey to conference if funds were available. Leora Prude seconded the motion.

Motion carried: 12 for, 0 against.

Vonda discussed the upcoming State meeting in early November. This is the meeting where we ask members of upper management to attend. This is at their own expense.

Susan Clifton asked if there is any discussion on negotiations for the contact earlier than the original upcoming schedule.

Discussion on calls that are handled in INT, PHX and RNO.

Good and Welfare:

Maryann Fleming passed away.

Drawing for red shirt on Thursday’s for July 2009.
