Membership Meetings

CWA Local 3640 Membership Meeting

February 8, 2011

Call to Order: 12:12pm.

Pledge of Allegiance

Chairperson: President Vonda Hardy

E-Board in attendance: Vickey Hoots, Darla Meyer, Lori Manuel, Ralph Roby, Robin Powell, Paul Lindner and Jerry Lindsay.

Darla read the minutes of the December 14, 2010 Membership Meeting (No meeting in January due to weather). Pat Stewart motioned to accept the minutes as read with a second from Ralph Roby.

Motion carried 8 for 0 against.

Darla went over and discussed the financial reports for December 2010 and January 2011. Vickey Hoots motioned to accept both financial reports with a second from Pat Stewart.

Motion carried 9 for 0 against.

Old Business: Vonda discussed upcoming contract negotiations. According to Ron Harbinson from Labor, main contract negotiations will be around December. Vonda talked about how important it is to start getting member’s feedback and issues important to them for the next contract. 

Pat Stewart recommended that all stewards begin contacting their agents to assist on contract concerns.

New Business: Tracy Hall has agreed to lower the Local’s website monthly rate to $70.00 starting January 2011. This is a savings of $55.00 a month.

Vonda discussed Handicap parking at the center. The company has advised us that there will no longer be reserved Handicap parking for any individual.

Rich Dennis asked for the floor to talk about the Legislative Committee meeting held in January. The committee has agreed to have 6 meetings for 2011. The dates chosen are March 5th, April 30th, July 9th, September 3rd and November 5th. All meetings will be held at the Barnes & Noble on Hanes Mall Blvd at 2:00 pm.
