Membership Meetings
CWA Local 3640 Membership Meeting
January 12, 2010
Call to Order: 6:01pm.
Pledge of Allegiance
Chairperson: President Vonda Hardy
E-Board in attendance: Vickey Hoots, Darla Meyer, Paul Lindner, Jerry Lindsay, Robin Powell and Lori Manual.
E-Board not in attendance: Derrick Hicks (vacation)
Darla read the minutes of the December 8th 2009 Membership meeting. Paul Lindner motioned to accept the minutes as read, with a second from Jerry Lindsay.
Motion carried 12 for, 0 against.
Darla went over and discussed the financial report for the month of December 2009. Robin Powell motioned to accept the financial report with a second from Sheila Evans.
Motion carried 12 for 0 against.
New Business:
The main topic of the Membership meeting was the mandatory overtime enforced in December.
Vonda provided a handout from the NC Department of Labor (hours worked and mandatory overtime). NC is a “right to work” state. Vonda went over in detail the issue of the mandatory overtime and she read the letter she wrote for the Local’s website. Extensive discussion followed from all the members present in the meeting.
Old Business:
Call routings and call types was discussed in detail. Rate agents continue to back up other departments that are getting VTO and are unable to get VTO themselves.
Committee Reports:
Rich Dennis gave his report from the Legislative Committee. Rich discussed the key elements and importance of becoming involved with the Legislative Committee. The committee was unable to have their monthly meeting.
Good and Welfare:
Drawing for wearing red on Thursday’s was held for November and December 2009 was held.

Drawing for attending Membership meeting for January was held.

Rich Dennis motioned to adjourn meeting. Jerry Lindsay seconded the motion.
Motion carried: 10 for 0 against.
