Membership Meetings

CWA Local 3640 Membership Meeting

June 14, 2011

Call to Order: 12:10pm.

Pledge of Allegiance

Chairperson: President Vonda Hardy

E-Board members in attendance: Vickey Hoots, Darla Meyer, Lori Manuel, Jerry Lindsay, Paul Lindner, Lisa Zeiset & Ralph Roby.

Darla read the minutes of the May 10th 2011 Membership meeting.

Jerry Lindsay motioned to accept the minutes as read with a second from Ralph Roby.

Motion carried: 9 for 0 against.

Darla went over and discussed the financial report for May 2011.

Paul Lindner motioned to accept the financial report with a second from Rich Dennis.

Motion carried: 9 for 0 against.

Report of Officers: Vonda went over the Presidents meeting she attended on June 8th in CLT. She stressed to everyone to fill out the surveys. Local 3140 in Florida received all of their surveys back. Vonda advised that during this meeting everyone split in small groups to go over separate parts of the survey. With the information collected from the surveys Job Security and Wages were the top two followed by Retirement.

Vonda advised that she will be back in the break room to continue to collect the surveys and get feedback from our members.

Vonda will be returning to CLT on the 15th & 16th for the Association meetings.

The first bargaining meeting is set for July 14th in PHX. Alternate Vickey Hoots will be attending the meeting due to Vonda being on vacation.

Report of Committees: Rich Dennis went over the Legislative issues including the GOP debate held June 13th. The next Legislative Committee meeting is to be held late June.

Unfinished Business: Discussion on Compliance, Handle Time and Customer Service. Our members stressed that there is too much to do and not enough time to do it anymore. A question was raised by Rich Dennis asking when the US Airways website is down why our passengers given the reservation number instead of the technical support number.

New Business: With the new IVR, QIK has been made smaller and causing more agents to have some medical issues including headaches and severe eye strain. Vonda advised to fill out the Job Modification form requesting a larger monitor. 

July Membership meeting needs to be rescheduled to July 19th due to the National Convention in LAS and Bargaining meeting in PHX.

Good & Welfare: Vonda asked that we all keep our fellow members who

have lost a loved one or has someone close to them who is sick in our

thoughts and prayers.
