Membership Meetings

CWA Local 3640 Membership Meeting

May 10, 2011

Call to Order: 6:03pm.

Pledge of Allegiance

Chairperson: President Vonda Hardy

E-Board members in attendance: Vickey Hoots, Darla Meyer, Lori Manuel, Jerry Lindsay and Ralph Roby.

E-Board member not in attendance: Paul Lindner (vacation).

Darla read the minutes of the March 8th 2011 Membership meeting. There was no meeting in April due to no attendance from members.

Jerry Lindsay motioned to accept the minutes as read with a second from Tracy Binkley.

Motion carried: 11 for 0 against.

Darla went over and discussed March and April 2011 financial reports.

Pat Stewart motioned to accept both financial reports with a second from Becky Gerald.

Motion carried: 11 for 0 against.

Report of Officers: Vonda talked about the Presidents meeting held in March in PSP. Discussion with the company included issues from the airports and reservations. CWA is trying to narrow down dates with the company for negotiations of the new contract. Vonda pointed out that the pilots and flight attendants still working with their current contract.

The next Presidents meeting will be held in CLT on June 8th.

Committee Reports: Vonda read Rich Dennis’s report of the Legislative Committee meeting held on April 30th. Discussion included April 4th standing up for workers rights and including a LPA section on Locals website.  Next meeting scheduled for 2pm June 25th at the Local.

Unfinished Business: Vonda advised the members that the E-board has appointed Lisa Zeiset to replace Robin Powell as 3rd floor Area Rep.

Pat Stewart motioned to accept the E-Boards appointment of Lisa Zeiset as 3rd floor Area Rep. Ralph Roby seconded the motion.

Motion carried: 10 for 0 against.

Mobilization: It’s been brought to the Locals attention that supervisors are making agents listen to their monitored calls. Vonda suggested if this happens to keep asking to rewind the tape.

Vonda brought up that the National Convention is being held in LAS in July. Vonda, Vickey and Darla will be attending.

Good and Welfare: Vonda asked everyone to remember those who have lost loved ones.
