Membership Meetings

CWA Local 3640 Membership Meeting

November 8, 2011

Call to Order: 6:05pm.

Pledge of Allegiance

Chairperson: Executive Vice President Vickey Hoots

E-Board in attendance: Darla Meyer, Jerry Lindsay, Paul Lindner and Lisa Zeiset.

E-Board not in attendance: Vonda Hardy (PHX Bargaining),Lori Manuel (had to return to res center for member), and Ralph Roby (floor walking).

Darla read the minutes of the October 11th 2011 Membership Meeting. Paul Lindner motioned to accept the minutes as read with a second from Susan Clifton.

Motion carried 5 for 0 against.

Darla went over and discussed the financial report for October 2011.

Jerry Lindsay motioned to accept the financial report with a second from Lisa Zeiset.

Motion carried: 5 for 0 against.

Officers Report: Vickey advised everyone that Vonda was in PHX bargaining and she would post updates on the website as it becomes available.

Vickey and Jerry will be going to DCA to attend mobilization training on November 16th.

Committees Report: none

New Business: The E-Board met earlier today to set some goals for the next term. Our goals included better communication with the Membership. This includes keeping the website updated with meeting notes and bargaining updates as they become available. We will also start having E-Board members in the break room at least once a month for questions and information for our Members.

Motions carried by the E-Board:

Motion to eliminate the $25.00 attending Membership Meeting drawing effective immediately.

Susan Clifton motioned to accept the motion carried to eliminate the drawing for attending Membership Meeting. Paul Lindner seconded the motion.

Motion carried: 5 for 0 against.

Motion to change our By-Laws to state we will have Bi-monthly Membership Meetings with rotating start times.

Susan Clifton motioned to accept the E-Boards decision to change the By-Laws to state we will have Bi-monthly Membership Meetings with rotating start times. Jerry Lindsay

seconded the motion.

Motion carried: 5 for 0 against.

Vickey advised that a By-Laws change must be presented in two meetings

for final approval by the Members attending.

Good and Welfare: Vickey asked everyone to keep our members and

their families who have suffered a loss or have been sick.

Drawing for wearing red on Thursdays: October winner: Wesley Willis

Susan Clifton motioned to adjourn meeting with a second from Jerry Lindsay.

Motion carried meeting adjourned at 6:40pm.
