CWA Local 3640 Membership Meeting
September 8, 2009
Call to Order: 6:07pm.
Pledge of Allegiance
Chairperson: President Vonda Hardy
E-Board in attendance: Vickey Hoots, Darla Meyer, Paul Lindner, Lori Manuel and Jerry Lindsay.
E-Board not in attendance: Robin Powell (vacation) Derrick Hicks (sick)
Darla read the minutes of the August 12th E-board meeting. Tracy Binkley motioned to accept the minutes as read with a second by Jerry Lindsay.
Motion carried: 14 for 0 against.
Darla read the minutes of the August 12th Membership meeting. Michael Obrien motioned to accept the minutes as read with a second by Deitra Little.
Motion carried: 15 for 0 against
Darla went over the financial report for month of August 2009. Tracy Binkley motioned to accept the financial report with a second by Paula Kelsey.
Motion carried: 15 for 0 against.
Report of Officers:
Vickey gave a report from the DOL Seminar that she and Darla attended in August.
Report of Committees:
Rich gave a report on the Legislative committee meeting held on August 29th. The next meeting will be held at the Barnes & Noble on October 4th around 1:00pm.
Unfinished Business:
Vonda went over in detail the results of the DOL audit.
Paula Kelsey motioned to accept the E-Board’s decision on Vonda’s overpayment of wages payback procedures. This motion was seconded by Michael Obrien.
Motion carried: 15 for 0 against.
Vonda discussed compliance in the office. Very few agents were below goal. Lengthy discussion followed on compliance issues throughout the building.
Discussion followed of DOT issues. Tracy Binkley asked if there was a way to find out how many of the calls that were in violation were in the US.
Kathy Smith mentioned problems with receipts issued for changes to tickets. Our passengers are getting copy of original ticket receipt instead of any additional collections and change fees. Her suggestion was for a queue similar to the queue Chairman’s department uses for all receipt requests.
Vonda brought up possible changes to the seats on the 4th floor. Agents can bring in some personal items and place them at a position.
We are still waiting to hear back from the company about the Debit cards that carry a service charge once they have been used.
New Business:
Vonda went over the snapbacks effective January 1, 2012. There have been some members that have been misreading the information in the contract.
Vickey Hoots motioned that the President receive any hat tricks or triple plays that the employees receive from the company. Michael Obrien seconded the motion.
Motion carried: 13 for 0 against.
Paula Kelsey motioned to decrease the drawing for wearing red on Thursdays from 2 winners to 1 winner per month. Rich Dennis seconded the motion.
Motion carried: 13 for 0 against.
Vonda mentioned several of our members losing family members over the last few months and asked if everyone could keep them in their prayers.
Drawing for wearing red for month of August postponed until next
meeting due to some area reps not present at the meeting.
